Those photos don’t look like much, but the defendant was poorly prepared. Had she presented some good enlargements that had been properly retouched, she might have had a good case. The defendant did a terrible job (e.g. “She’s totally lying!”) and did not come off as professional at all.

I love that Judge Joe Brown knows things about cameras. That lady doesn’t know what the speed of her lens is? Another example showing that anyone can truly be a wedding photographer.

@bobphilly wassup with u and comparing the cameras? if your good with a Rebel, thats perfectly fine. But base on the pictures, COMEON! the defendant know shit about taking good photos with their Rebel. It seem like a couple of random snaps. & she did not deny the fact she went to walmart to use cheap shit,
I bet the next plaintiff would be the defendant’s children, suing their mom for the same reason.

Who cares if the judge is right or wong, that bitch had an attitude and really needed to be put in her place.

Besides, if I hire a pro photographer to do my wedding, they better show up with something BETTER than the equipment I use. A rebel XTi isn’t something you show up as a “pro” with “hundreds” of weddings under your belt

The plaintiff’s cupie doll voice is like a spike through my brain

To much to say but …I would rather have a artistic photographer with a Rebel than a photographer with a $5000 camera and brags about how awesome he is The Judge was mostly wrong and should have looked at all the picture and made his judgement or better had another photographer look at them. And if you think a Rebel with a 50mm lens doesnt make for good photographs – Invite me to your next wedding shoot and challenge me. Live near Philly PA.

About lenses – Yes you should have descent ones but it doesnt mean you cant shoot with any other lens but an “L” lens – PLEAAASSE! You mean to tell me a 50mm 1.8 for under 100.00 cant do a good job — Some of you have to do some research on some of these lens review websites and see that optical quality is not what you get all the time you break out 1000.00 for a lens …more…

I think the Judge was way out of line. He is thinking of the days we used canon ae1′s – For those of you who are critics of the Canon Rebel Digital – The camera is more than enough to shoot a wedding – The only people who would say any different are the “Camera Gear Heads” who think they need a Canon 1D’s for a wedding, like the judge -Who by the way can maybe buy 10 with his pay …more..

oh please – the judge was wrong

please

that’s AMATEUR gear! she charges 1300 for that!? My god, she doesn’t even know the lens’s speed. OMG!

Judge Judy will rip these bitches new holes for talking over the judge.

I’m seriously hope that plaintiff learns a lesson to NOT shop at Craiglist period. They need to discontinue Craiglist off web.

Too many of these people go out and buy a Rebel and all of a sudden they are professional photographers. Digital has made it a bit easier but lighting and posing still have to be recorded correctly. A 70-300 is a 5.6 lense, waay too slow for a wedding. Judge Joe did the right thing here.

I love this video!!!!!

@BarefootBASE Maybe cause it’s absolutely fake and staged show, exactly the same as Oprahs?

What speed is it? ” I don’t know.” WTF?!? That alone would make me question her abilities!

Whats’s with the people clapping like they are at the Oprah show ?

@bukkhumlae

All I am saying is if you called me… and you told me that you have pro equipment and you sent me a Rebel to repair… I would laugh my ass off at you and your pitiful camera.

We agree on a lot – but I disagree with his/ her assumption that a Rebel in ANY combination with any other Pro piece of equipment thereby makes the photo shoot professional.

You can put a pickle on a hamburger – it doesn’t make it a pickle sandwich – Zo

@iVTECInside

Shame on you for thinking that pixel count really matters in these cases. Kudos for knowing about sensor size… Most armatures have no clue what that means.

@bukkhumlae

if u came to my wedding with a rebel… i’d take you to court to… and apparently…. i’d win. :)

lol @ papermermaid… you’re getting owned. stop yourself now before you make yourself look even more dumb. what’s even worse is that you claim to work for canon so you should know better hahaha.

@papermermaid
It discredits you because you’ve suggested that a person that knows what they are doing couldn’t get the same pictures using a T1i over a 50D using the same lens.

I promise you – You could hand these hacks a 1dmkIV (current enough?) with a 24-70 2.8 and it wouldn’t change a thing.

For real quality, Photographer > Lens > Body[within a couple gens].

Just to let you know, I intentionally used T1i/50D in my example because they share the same sensor size and pixel count.

@iVTECInside

Why would that discredit me…? I see crap pictures all of the time from ‘pros’ like these who place all of their stock the the most expensive lens they can find. I promise you – its the camera that determains quality.

And just to let you know… we are on the T2i now. Please try to keep up. :-)

@papermermaid
lol… That response essentially discredits you. A good lens will most certainly make as much of a difference on a Rebel T1i as it would on a 50D.

Given bodies of the same generation and sensor size (to a lesser extent pixel count as well, provided they are close) the differences in a single static shot when using the same lens will be quite minor if noticeable at all.
